Truck Captain

Munchilove is a specialty bakery located in Durham, NC which specializes in crafting artisan brownies. Combining our patent-pending baking process with our original recipe, we have created the first fillable brownie. We are a growing company and are dedicated to producing quality baked goods.

As our Truck Captain, you will play an integral part in helping Munchilove become a for handling the day-to-day operations for our business and representing our brand throughout the Triangle area! If you are looking for a unique opportunity to work for Durham’s newest mobile espresso business, please apply! responsibilities include, preparation of the trailer for service, overseeing operations of the Munchilove trailer during shift operation, driving the trailer to service location, managing orders and finances during service, preparation of brownies based on customer order and clean-up of truck and equipment after service. To be successful in this role, you should be outgoing, customer focused and have work experience in the food service industry, experience driving a trailer, be a good leader and adept at time and schedule management.

Responsibilities:

Check the Munchilove service schedule and notify the owner if there are any services you are unable to support
Coordinate with the Munchilove Baker for correct supply of brownies and toppings, and with Barista for espresso supplies
Prepare the trailer for the day's service; set up and stock trailer with all necessary supplies for brownie and espresso service, for example:
- Ensure trailer’s water tank is adequately filled for service
- Ensure truck and generator are adequately fueled for service
- Ensure propane tanks are adequately filled for service
Drive the trailer to service location, arriving 30-60 meetings prior to service start time
Set up/break down the trailer for service
Advising customers on brownie selection, take orders and handle payment
Prepare brownies to meet customer orders
Maintain clean and orderly trailer during service
Return trailer to commercial kitchen parking at the end of scheduled day’s services
Inventory espresso supplies and notify owner of any needed ingredients or packaging supplies
Clean trailer and equipment to prepare for next day’s service, for example:
- Empty grey water tank
- Wash espresso preparation tools
- Wash topping containers
- Store unused toppings in kitchen refrigerator
Occasionally doing private catering/brownie delivery
Notify owner of any problems or opportunities for improvement
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
Experience in the food service industry
Understanding of food safety practices
Familiarity with use and maintenance of propane tanks and gas generators
Flexibility to work in early morning, mid-day and evening shifts
Time-management skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

As the Head Baker for Munchilove, you will play a critical role supporting Munchilove operations. Utilizing your technical baking skills, you will prepare our core product offerings for sale in our mobile food trailer as well as for private catering and wholesale opportunities. Major responsibilities will include baking products according to company standards, maintaining inventory of products, developing new product offerings, coordination with other team members to ensure products are ready for service schedule, and communication with the owner regarding improvements. To be successful in this role, you should be team oriented, have work experience as a Baker, and be adept at time and schedule management. This position offers a flexible work schedule and competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities

Prepare baked goods and fillings according to company standards
Monitor the MunchiLove events schedule and plan baking days accordingly to support the number of services and anticipated product requirements
Maintain and track inventory for ingredients and supplies
Coordinate with the Truck Captain to ensure correct supply of brownies and toppings
Notify the owner of your planned baking days and times each week
Ensure a clean working environment is maintained both before and after baking
Bake brownies and other product offerings based on the Munchilove recipe and process
Clean kitchen equipment and tools at the end of each baking shift
Track food supplies and notify owner so inventory of ingredients and packaging supplies can be maintained
Notify owner of any problems or opportunities for improvement
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience as a baker, professional, or home cook
Understanding of food safety practices
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment including mixers, blenders, convection ovens, and induction cooktops
Flexibility to work in early morning or evening shifts
Time-management skills

lead barista

Munchilove is a specialty bakery located in Durham, NC which specializes in crafting artisan brownies. Combining our patent-pending baking process with our original recipe, we have created the first fillable brownie. We are a growing company and are dedicated to producing quality baked goods.

Are you a team-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Lead Barista to continue to build Munchilove’s coffee platform. In this position, you will play a critical role in providing leadership and oversight to the coffee portion of the mobile trailer. Team-oriented, customer service oriented individuals with a passion for coffee and operating custom espresso machines are encouraged to apply. Barista’s responsibilities include brewing and serving delicious espresso beverages to Munchilove customers with warmth and friendliness. To be successful in this role, you should be outgoing, customer focused, have work experience as a barista and be adept at time and schedule management. This work will be done on the Munchilove Food Trailor. Experience with xxx espresso machine a plus.

Responsibilities:

Check the Munchilove service schedule and notify the Truck Captain/owner if there are any services you are unable to support
Assist with setting up/breaking down the trailer for service (this may include lifting/pushing heavy equipment)
Set up and cleanup of espresso machine before and after each service
Brewing espresso drinks based on customer requests
Arrive at each location on time and ready to work
Handle financial transactions when Truck Captain is doing other tasks
Occasionally do private catering/coffee delivery
Frequent and positive communication with Truck Captain and Munchilove owner
Track supplies and notify Truck Captain/owner so inventory of espresso ingredients and packaging supplies can be maintained
Notify Team Captain of any problems or opportunities for improvement
Other duties as assigned
